Day 1: Arrival Tirana (20 km)
Arrival at Mother Teresa airport in Tirana. Meet and assist and transfer to hotel “Tafaj” for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Full day Tirana (20 km)
After breakfast visit the National Historic Museum, The Mosque of Ethem Bej and Arts Gallery. At noon excursion to mount Dajti by cable car, hiking and bird watching at the National Park , return back to downtown. Visit the ex block area and dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel “Tafaj”
Day 3: Tirana, Durres, Divjaka
This morning depart for Durres where you will visit the Amphitheater and the Archaeological museum. Continue your drive to Divjaka to explore the National Park and Karavasta lagoon. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight at hotel Divjaka resort.
Day 4:Full day Divjaka National Park & Karavasta lagoon
Today, guided by local guide, you will explore the Divjaka National Park and Karavasta Lagoon. Package lunch. Dinner and overnight at hotel Divjaka resort
Karavasta Lagoon and swamp system is the largest in Albania and one of the largest in the Mediterranean
A typical representative of the ecosystem is the curl pelican (pelicanus crispus), and about 6,4% of its entire population nests in the Lagoon
The area of Karavasta Lagoon is extremely rich in wildlife. There are 29 species of amphibians and reptiles, including lizards and turtles, and 25 species of mammals including the weasel, forest mouse, deer, red fox, roe deer, and wild cow. In total, there are 228 bird species, with water fowl in particular making Karavasta Lagoon a natural preserve of international importance. Worth mentioning from the bird species are the Dalmatian pelican, the great white heron, the grey heron, the horse cuckoo, the warbler, the blackbird, the black sparrow hawk, the white-tailed eagle, the sea eagle, the fish eagle, the falcon, and the crested lark, the silver lark, and the sky lark.
Day 5: Divjaka, Vlora, Llogara, Saranda
After breakfast depart for Saranda through Llogara National Park traveling along the mountain road of Albanian Riviera. Dinner at local restaurant and
overnight at hotel Brilant (or similar)
Day 6:Saranda, Butrinti, Gjirokastra
At morning drive to the National Park of “Butrint” situated nearly 15 km. south of the city of Saranda. The forest near the ancient city of Butrint, consists of a real subtropical jungle, where high trees and laurels are dominant. This area is of significant importance for the development of cultural tourism with the ancient city of Butrint that is under the protection of UNESCO, blue tourism in Ksamil and eco-tourism in the Lake.
Afternoon depart for Gjirokastra to visit the the Castle, the Weapons Museum and the Ethnographic Museum. Dinner and overnight at hotel Cajupi (or similar)
Day 7: Gjirokastra, Permet, Korce
After breakfast drive to Korca through Kelcyra Gorge, Permeti, Barmash pass and Erseka – dinner, overnight at hotel Life Gallery (or similar)
Day 8: Korce, Prespa lake, Ohrid
After visiting the Museum of Medieval Arts drive to the National Park of Prespa lake. Depart for Ohrid through Pogradec and St.Naum crossing border Visit the Monastery of St. Naum on the shore of Lake Ohrid. In the afternoon we will have a walking tour of Ohrid, one of the oldest towns in Europe, and a UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage site. Lake Ohrid is one of the oldest and deepest lakes on the continent and with its unique flora and fauna is one of the largest biological reserves in Europe. Scientific studies show it has preserved some forms of primeval life which no longer exist in other places or only exist as fossils. Dinner, overnight at hotel Tino (or similar)
Day 9: Full day hiking and bird-watching Galicica National Park (70 km)
We spend a full-day hiking and bird-watching in Galicica National Park. The park, with its numerous hiking trails, is home of more than 300 hundreds species of birds, some of which are migratory birds. 56 of Macedonia’s native birds are protected species. Pelicans and cormorants are quite common in this region. Optional lunch at local restaurant . Return back to Ohrid. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Ohrid – Mavrovo National Park (120 km)
After breakfast we drive to Mavrovo National Park for a full-day hiking and bird watching. The Mavrovo National Park in Macedonia is one of Europe’s oldest national parks. It is famous for its extensive beech forests, alpine meadows, pristine rivers and streams. A huge variety of species, such as rare trout species, wolves, bears, and otters, live in the park. One species is outstanding though: the Balkan Lynx (Lynx lynx balcanicus). Dinner and overnight at the hotel Alpina (or similar).
Day 11: Mavrovo – Tetova – Prizren ( 170 km)
Today we will travel to Prizren through Tetova, where we will visit the Motley Mosque. In afternoon we will continue the sightseeing the of the city and visit Sinan Pasha’s mosque. Dinner and overnight at hotel Theranda in Prizren.
Day 12: Prizren – Brezovice (40 km)
At morning visit the Bajrakli Gazi Mehmet Pasha’s mosque and Prizren League House then depart for Sharri (Brezovica) National Park. After lunch we will explore the park. Dinner and overnight at hotel Narcis (or similar hotel).
This park presents one of the most important and interesting mountain ranges in the Balkans. Its ecologic diversity and preservation allows a distinctly rich flora and fauna.
Ethno tourism, hiking, biking, mountaineering, hunting, fishing and many other rural tourism potentials make this place ideal for inviting and satisfying tourists.
In summer the tourists in Brezovica are in close touch with nature through organized walking and recreational tours, collecting edible mushrooms, medicinal herbs, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and other types of wild berries, hunting and fishing and visiting the numerous cultural-historical monuments of this area.
Day 13: Brezovica – Gjakove – Valbone (140 km)
This morning we continue our journey to Valbona valley through Gjakova, Morina crossing border and the small town of Bajram Curri. Optional lunch at a local restaurant. Free afternoon and dinner and overnight at hotel guesthouse Burimi Valbones (or any other similar)
Day 14: Full day Valbona
Full day hiking and trekking at the Valbona valley. Dinner and overnight at your guesthouse
Valbona valley has a surface of about 8000 hectares and it is 25- 30 km
north-west of the city of Bajram Curri. It offers beautiful mountain views. The Valbona river is famous for its crystal clear waters and spectacular waterfalls. In the valley there are some nice traditional villages. This mountainous region is great for hiking, camping, and exploring the Albanian Alps. There are numerous waterfalls which are easily accessible by marked hiking trails.
Day 15: Valbona – Tirana
At morning drive to Fierza where you will board the ferry to Koman. Drive to Tirana. Free afternoon and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at hotel Tafaj (or similar)
Day 16: Tirana, Airport
After breakfast check out the hotel and transfer to airport for departure back home
