Today you will be met at the Split airport and transferred to the village of Zadvarje. Your private accommodation is located in the center of the village and is comprised of two different houses which hold a maximum of 14 people. Both houses are fully equipped with bedrooms, toilets (shared or private), air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and satellite TV.

Zadvarje village is located 40 km northeast of Split and has only 200 inhabitants. It has its own coastline municipality, and the large canyon carved by the Cetina River is right next to the village itself. In this charming little village you will find everything you need for basic living: a small family market for groceries, authentic Dalmatian taverns for meals out, and a small café, with post office, ATM, and bank close by. Every tuesday you can visit the local cattle fair where all kinds of animals are sold, along with handmade goods, clothes, tools, and food. All this, added to its unique location between the river, mountains, and sea, makes Zadvarje perfect for all kinds of adventure sports and vacations. Enjoy a Welcome Dinner before settling in for the evening. (D)

Take a load off after yesterday’s journey. Today you will be taken to the nearest beach, a small place called Pisak (a 15-mintue drive from your home base), where you can soak in the pristine beauty of the crystalline Adriatic Sea. Take a swim, relax, and rest up for the next few days’ adventures. (B, D)

Explore the Cetina River by dinghy, taking in the unique landscape of cliffs and luxuriant vegetation as you make your way downstream. You will be provided with the necessary equipment and your guide will give you full instructions before you board your dinghy, preparing you to master the 2nd and 3rd degree rapids you will encounter on your way to the village of Blato na Cetini. There will be a good mix of rapids and calm during this 3-hour adventure. After getting out of your wet clothes, sit back and enjoy a barbecue lunch on a meadow next to the river. (B, L)

Get to know the Dalmatian countryside from the best seat possible: a bicycle. Ride amidst stunning scenery, on paved roads, looking out to fertile plains and rocky mountains. The landscape here is diverse and simply majestic. You will be provided with a bicycle, helmet, and small equipment, and sent off to explore at your own pace. Picnic lunch. (B, L)

Today you will be back on the Cetina River. The most inaccessible (and most beautiful!) part of the river canyon is near the village Zadvarje. After descending into the 170-meter-deep canyon, stop for a swim and then walk to the 55-meter waterfall called Gubavica. Make your way down the river, accompanied by the roar of the powerful waters that formed the riverbed over thousands of years and left waterfalls and crystal-clear lakes perfect for swimming. After your trip, sit back at the local tavern and relive the day’s adventures over lunch. (B, L)

Today is a free day which you can choose to spend in nearby Omiš or Makarska.

Omiš is a small town which dates back to the ancient Greek period. The town’s heyday was in the medieval period under the governance of the pirate family Kacic, who were famous for attacking merchant boats from Venice, Dubrovnik, Split, and Kotor. In 1444, Omiš became part of the Venetian Republic, later belonging to the Austrians, the French, and the Habsburg family until World War I, finally sharing its destiny with the rest of Croatia.

Makarska, with its Riviera, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Croatia. It is situated in a naturally-protected harbor which is flanked by two capes. The history of Makarska will impress you, and you will enjoy its vivid, lively atmosphere during the summer season. (B, D)

In the morning you will make the short (15 minute) drive to Brela, a small town on the Makarska Riviera. After being supplied with kayaks and the necessary equipment, you will paddle to the beach called Vrulja. Vrulja is famous for its underground river spring which flows from Biokovo Mountain into the sea. Visit the spring and nearby caves before making your way to the beach, where you can swim and snorkel. (B, L)

Today after breakfast you will be transferred from Zadvarje to the Split airport for your departure flight. (B)
