Travel to Romania

Romantic Romania

A touch of history, myths and folklore of kings, princes, castles and unspoiled landscapes

8 days/7 nights

2008 Departure Dates:
Every Saturday from April 26 to October 18, 2008.

Romania is a country of contrasts. Visitors will experience a blend of Austro-Hungarian Empire, ancient Byzantium, Roman and Turkish influences. Its geography is diverse as well, with the rugged Carpathian Mountains, rich green valleys, and farms seemingly from another century. Ancient Greeks colonized the Black Sea and the Romans later brought their civilization and most importantly their language, which became the foundation for modern Romanian.

Romania of today has elegant cities like Bucharest and beautiful medieval towns throughout the country. Like other Eastern European countries Romania has struggled economically since the 1990's and the downfall of Ceausescu in 1989. With its induction into NATO in November of 2002, Romania will be allowed closer ties with the larger European family of nations.
