Welcome in the new millennium in a less traversed corner of Europe, the Balkan Peninsula. Come visit Albania and see what few people have seen: an untouched coastline, hidden valleys, and rugged mountains. Visit Albania and receive one of the warmest receptions in all of Europe. The people of this tiny country are known for warmth and hospitality. From the mountains in the north to the archaeological sites in the south, from the growing city of Tirana and the port of Durres to the rural villages throughout the country, there is surprising diversity for travelers in Albania to discover.

For those people with a limited amount of time, Kutrubes Travel has a 5 day/4 night "taste" of the country, visiting the major attractions in Tirana, Shkodra, Durres and Berat.

Day 1
Transfer from Mother Theresa Airport to your hotel in Tirana. Afternoon visit to the National Museum of History, rest of the day free to explore the city. Dinner and overnight in Tirana. (D)

Day 2
Drive to Kruja, the home of Albania's most important hero, Scanderbeg, who in the 15th century successfully kept the Turks at bay for over thirty years. Visit Scanderbeg Museum and Turkish-style bazaar. Leave Kruja for the northern city of Shkodra with a stop over in Lezha. In Shkodra visit the Rozafa Castle, Mesi Bridge and Leaden Mosque. Late afternoon departure for Tirana. (B, L, D).

Day 3
Leave Tirana for Durres. Visit to the Roman amphitheater in Durres, the second largest city in Albania. Drive southward to Berat to visit the old castle and the Icon Museum. Dinner and overnight in Berat. (B, L, D)

Day 4
Leave Berat for Apollonia to visit the 6th century BC ruins. Drive to Tirana for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)

Day 5
Transfer to Mother Theresa airport. (B)
